INFORMATION

Membership

To be a member, one has to complete and submit an application to BCSPA Office and commit to pay a monthly subscription of P50.00 deducted from their monthly pension.

Any adult Motswana who is 45 years and above, and in receipt of a pension shall be eligible for membership of the Association. To join the association, one needs to bring the following documents:

  1. Certified copy of Omang (Identity Document)

  2. Latest pay slip (only applicable for annuitants)

 

Independent Members (those who are not receiving pension) are encouraged to arrange stop order payment with their bank.

NB: Those who receive a monthly Pension from Pension Funds or Insurance would have their monthly subscription deducted at source by the paymaster.

Members who do not have a monthly pension can set up monthly stop orders with their bank. If payment is made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or deposited into the BCSPA account, proof of payment must be sent to the BCSPA Head Office.

TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

Members must fill out a termination letter and a termination form, specifying the exact date of termination. They need to provide a 30-day notice from the intended termination date and submit a copy to the Head Office for approval.​

 

Withdrawal Form

The above form must be accompanied by a covering termination letter.

DEATH OF A MEMBER/SPOUSE

When a member or spouse passes away, the benefits are paid out to the beneficiaries, thereby ending the policy.​

HOW DO I CLAIM?

Provide 2 copies of the following documents when filing a claim:

  1. Provide a certified copy of the death certificate.

  2. Pension Payslip of the deceased member.

  3. Certified copy of the claimant's identity document (Omang).

  4. Copy of marriage certificate (if applicable).

  5. Bank statement/confirmation letter.

  6. Certified copies of Witnesses' Identity Documents (Omang).

  7. A letter from family members certified by the customary courts or district commissioner (if both parents are deceased).

  8. Police Medical Report in the case of accidental death (if applicable).

There are certain forms that the BCSPA and its members need to complete. These forms should be filled out by individuals who wish to join or leave the association. Once completed, the forms must be sent to the Head Office.

To uphold a strong relationship with its members, the Botswana Civil Service Pensioners Association (BCSPA) is requesting its members to provide their personal information for identification and verification (KYC).

 

This information will enable the Association to have the necessary details about its members for planning and conducting business with stakeholders, such as insurance companies as well as to communicate with BCSPA members as and when need arises to also share members information with the Registrar of Socities.

BCSPA staff should help and encourage members to accurately complete this form with their details. The completed form should be sent to BCSPA to update member details.
